Easington Colliery Band

Join Easington Colliery Band and special guests this Remembrance Sunday for Last Post, First Light – a memorable evening of music and remembrance.

With programme highlights including Summon the Heroes, the Last Post, All Night Long, Mack the Knife, Cherokee, and the newly commissioned Easington Elegy, this concert combines the richness of the brass band tradition and energetic big band sounds, with quieter evocative moments of reflection.

Featured guests include ex-band member turned professional trumpeter and producer Johnny Thirkell, who has performed and recorded with Sir Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Tina Turner, Bon Jovi, and the Buddy Rich Big Band, as well as Sunderland’s own songwriter and multi-instrumentalist The Lake Poets.

We’re also delighted to be joined by Trimdon Training Band to complete our programme.

Join us as we honour the past, celebrate the present, and look towards our future.
